OZMA’s music takes it source in the continuity of bands like the Dave Holland Quintet, Aka Moon, Ray Anderson’s Slickaphonics, or even Steve Coleman and the Metrics.
Thanks to their strong cohesion, both on a human and musical level, ideas come about naturally in an abundance which makes up the originality of “ozmical” music. In Ozma’s particularly strange universe, the various landscapes, made up of a subtle balance between writing and improvisation, succeed one another with eloquence and humor.
In July 2006 OZMA wins the “Concours National de Jazz à la défense” the band gets the First orchester price and the trombone player Guillaume Nuss wins the First soloist Price.
